The course is meant to be for people who are interested in self-publishing,
especially for those who like to be creative manually.
What is Fanzine and Scrapbook?
Fanzine it’s short for “fan magazine,” and typically refers to the kind
of fan-made, photocopied magazines that popped up in decades past. Generally,
there's some kind of hand-crafted element to its production, while
the content normally draws on ideas and values not covered regularly
by the mainstream media. Scrapbooking is a method of preserving, presenting, arranging personal/family history in the form of a book, box, card. Typical sources for creativity include photographs, printed media, and artwork.
What are you going to do?
You'll listen to introduction about Fanzines and Scrabooks, possible topics and ideas to wake up your creativity. Then you'll choose between one of those and start to create!
What do you need?
We expect you to come with an intention to self-publish. Maybe fanzine within guerrila art? Or fanzine as autobiography? Or scrapbook as a diary filled with photos, collages and illustrations? It is important to have a
main idea which will make the connections within the scrapbook or fanzine. Take with you some photographs, your fan picture collections or anyting you like and is possible to be glued to a paper.
We have all the material: cutter or scalpel or scissors; different color papers, sizes; elastic bands, threads and needle; colour pencils, pencils, rubbers, markers; glue, magazines, newspapers, cardboards.
